Adam Stoehr

Vice President – Leadership Development

Adam is responsible for developing and implementing world-class training and education programs.  He is expanding our current programs and developing new leadership programs that will be exclusively designed to help our Members succeed.  He is also on the faculty of our Global Leadership Training Program.

Adam was with Excellence Canada for 25 years and was their Vice President – Education & Training, responsible for educational services, including the development and deployment of training and certification. 

He is an Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management Professor at the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto.  Adam is a graduate of the Rotman MBA program and received his PhD from the University of the West of England.

In 2023 he was selected by the students as the top Professor at the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University.

He has also taught at Carlton University and Toronto Metropolitan University.

He will continue to teach courses at the Rotman School of Business – working with future CEOs in the university classroom and current CEOs in the corporate boardroom.  

Dan Steward

A highly accomplished CEO, Dan was a Member of CEO Global Network for over 15 years and had a very successful career as the President, CEO & Partner of Pillar To Post.  Under Dan’s leadership Pillar To Post became the #1 home inspection company in North America with 600 offices in 49 states and nine Canadian provinces. 

Prior to Pillar To Post, Dan was Regional Vice President of Iron Mountain and Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer Shred-it Group of Companies.

He is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University where he received his BA in Business and his MBA.  He is also a graduate of the Rotman School of Management Director’s Education Program ICD.D

Britt Steinhardt

Britt has almost 30 years’ experience as a bookkeeper, accountant and financial controller. A member of the CEO Global Network team since 2012, Britt is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank statements, general ledger, and financial statements.

Glenn Sommerville

Mentor

Glenn is a champion of organizational culture and operational excellence and has over 25 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, logistics, and operations across multiple industries.

As Regional Director, Operations (Country Leader) for Amazon, Glenn was accountable for all Amazon fulfillment operations across Canada, including long-term strategy development and deployment. In this role, Glenn directed over 8,000 employees and was responsible for capital projects of $350M/year and operating budgets of $730M/year. Glenn also served as an Officer and Board of Directors member of Amazon subsidiaries operating in Canada and represented Amazon’s Canadian operations at regional, provincial, and federal government levels. During his tenure, Glenn successfully scaled Amazon’s Canadian fulfillment operations through multiple consecutive years of more than 50% year-over-year volume growth.

Other leadership positions held by Glenn include Vice President, Manufacturing Operations and New Product Introduction (NPI) for Blackberry; General Manager, Manufacturing for Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada; and Director, Operations for Honeywell.

At Blackberry, Glenn was responsible for over 2000 employees across production, engineering, planning, and procurement, and an operating budget over $160M. During his tenure, Glenn successfully transformed Blackberry’s high-volume manufacturing plant into a best-in-class New Product Realization Centre and led manufacturing and supply chain teams in the launch of new hardware products from prototype and development to full production.

At Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, Glenn served as a member of Toyota’s global executive team and Canadian leadership team responsible for managing three automotive plants and over 7000 employees. Glenn’s direct responsibilities included the manufacturing and operations of the Lexus Plant, where he directed over 1000 employees and oversaw capital projects over $33M and operating budgets over $220M. Under Glenn’s leadership, the Lexus Plant was awarded the prestigious 2010 JD Power Gold Plant Award for the highest-level quality of any vehicle plant in North and South America.

At Honeywell, Glenn directed over 600 employees and led a $160M/year aerospace electronic manufacturing and repair services business—including manufacturing, operations engineering, product certification, new product introduction, and facilities and equipment engineering.

In 2019, Glenn made the decision to focus his time and energy to support the development of other business leaders and executives and co-founded High Performance Leaders Inc. Since then, Glenn has provided coaching and support to hundreds of business people across all organizational levels at companies of all sizes.

David Smith

Group Leader & Mentor

David has over 40 years of contract foodservice/hospitality operations, sales and facility services leadership experience with the last 26 years of his career being with Compass Group Canada.  During his time with Compass the company grew from annual sales of $100 million to $2.0 Billion. Compass Group is now one of Canada’s largest private sector employers with over 26,000 Associates coast to coast.

In 2024 he was the President of Compass One and Support Services, the Healthcare Division of Compass Group Canada. Managed Volume exceeded $450 Million.

From 2021 to 2024 he was the President of Chartwells and Quebec, a division of Compass Food Group.  As President, he was responsible for all higher education and school dining across Canada including 50 College and University campuses and over 600 high schools.  Annual revenue exceeded $400 million.

From 2017 to 2021 David was President of Eurest Dining Services Canada, a division of Compass Food Group where he was responsible for all corporate dining, catering, leisure and correctional foodservice operations across Canada.  In this position he was responsible for over $500 million in annual revenue, over 500 locations and 8,000 Associates.

Prior to joining Compass in Executive leadership, he had a number of leadership positions with Marriott Management Services including Director of Operations.

He has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Hotel and Food Administration from the University of Guelph.

As a CEO mentor, David is passionate about sharing insights from his leadership career in Sales, Marketing, Technology, M&A, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Board Governance.

As President of TELUS Enterprise and Partner Solutions, David drove a multi-billion dollar P& supported by the efforts of several high-performing teams including: Enterprise Solutions (TELUS’ largest public and private business customers), Partner Solutions (TELUS’ global wholesale telecom & cloud provider business), the very first President of GoCo (SMB focused channel for Security, UC and SDWAN solutions), TELUS Financial Solutions (TELUS’ Fintech & Payment solutions) and TELUS Employer Solutions (Global HR BPO solutions).

During his time as TELUS’ Chief Procurement Officer & SVP Supply Chain Management, David led a team that was accountable for more than $6B in annual spending.  And as the Senior Vice President – TELUS Business Solutions Marketing, David and his team led the overall B2B strategy, product management, marketing and communications, and professional services for all of the TELUS Enterprise, SMB and wholesale channels.

During his time at TELUS David also helped develop and served as a founding board member for TELUS International, a leading digital customer experience innovator & GenAI enabler. TELUS International became the largest technology IPO in the Toronto Stock Exchange history and was co-listed on the NYSE in 2021.

David’s commitment to ongoing learning includes the achievement of a professional Accredited Director designation with the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada (CGIC). His board experience includes Chairman of the Board for Optimus AI Labs and Board member of Hackworks, Ontario Brain Institute, 8Twelve (a fintech company disrupting the mortgage industry), Wingmate (a CRM tech company focused on the services industry) and HU/EX Labs (a Conversational AI company focused on the QSR segment).

An active volunteer, David has also sat on the boards of the Ontario Science Centre, WXN Canada’s Top 100 most powerful women, Canadian Aboriginal & Minority Supplier Council, CANARIE, and was the founding board member for TELUS Toronto Community Board.

David also supports multiple companies as an external M&A advisor.

David has been highly recognized for his leadership impact. In addition to being a 2021 TELUS Legend recipient, he was also recognized as one of the Top 40 under 40 Global Telecom Industry Executives and a Canadian Diversity Champion by Women of Influence.
